I used to like Business Insider!
Every now and then, I still get my news there (through Twitter, mostly), and I tend to like their insight.

Correction: I USED to like their insight! The website is too full of ways to make you click here and there, prioritizing pageviews through lengthy diaporamas and distracting ads.
But the thing that annoys me the most is their tweets:
Who Is This Tech Exec, And Why Did He Just Shave His Head? by @MattRosoff http://read.bi/tZvPCu
— Business Insider (@SAI) December 22nd, 2011
There is absolutely NO value nor insight to something like this! It seems it all became a fake game of enigmas that should only be found in British tabloids!
I totally understand that you need some business plan, some way of monetization: after all, it’s the issue faced by thousands of start-ups mentioned by Business Insider. But this type of tweets and f-ugly clickable lightrooms are not the way to go!
As mentioned by a famous entrepreneur (who I’m afraid I can’t recall at this time):
You need to focus on your niche before opening up. Even once you made your product accessible, you still need to pay attention and put your users first.
I strongly the same goes with a media blog/website like Business Insider, and I don’t think this is the way forward.
Not in 2011, not anymore!
